COACHING

Pickleball 4 U Development’s certified coaches have helped hundreds of people, aged 6 to 80+, providing many hours of personal instruction or running clinics. Whether you’ve never picked up a paddle or you’re an advanced player with a DUPR of 4.5 or below, we can help you improve your game.

We also have a Titan One pickleball machine and dozens of pre-configured drills that will allow you to hone specific aspects of your game.

    Level of Play: 4.50 to 5.0

    Fave Pickleball Moment: Winning the 2024 PPA Indoor Central National

    Indoor Championships in Lakeville, MN- Singles, 4.0-4.5 Gold Medal, 35 yrs to 49 yrs.

    Fav Achievements: 2022, 23 & 24 Thunder Bay Open Men's Doubles Champion

    Bio: Jason along with a former men's double partner was the creator of the current Thunder Bay Pickleball Club in town as well has helped bring up the numbers significantly with the Moose Hall Pickleball Group in town with promotional events, lessons and monthly clinics. Jason is a true builder of the sport, as well as great promoter and marketing mind for the sport.

    Jason was the first person to launch a youth program in the area which has ran at the Moose Hall, Boulevard and many other smaller venues. He loves coaching his advanced group, especially his son Alek who at 15 yrs old is playing in the Higher Level Division in the area.

    For 2025 his goal is to up his training and try to compete sometime in 2026 in a senior(50+) pro event in canada or the states. Jason is a sponsored player and Sales Rep for Diadem Pickleball for the area as well.

    Fave Pickleball Moment: Winning the 2024 PPA Indoor Central National Indoor Championships in Lakeville, MN in Singles, 3.5-4.0 Gold Medal, 60 to 69 yrs.

    Fav Achievements: 2024 Duluth Men’s Doubles Advanced Silver Medal; 2023 & 2024 Thunder Bay Open Men's Doubles Champion.

    Bio: Dan’s life in pickleball took off when he asked Jason to be his men’s doubles partner. From there he added instructional certifications to help others learn the game and improve. Dan is a pickleball nerd, continuously watching YouTube videos of PPA Tour matches and finding effective drills to teach others.

    Dan’s goals for 2025 are to continually improve at pickleball instruction, become a better player, and assist Jason with his goal to play in a senior (50+) pro event in Canada or the USA.

    Long Term Goal: To continue to improve his knowledge of pickleball techniques and teaching styles to engage a large variety of players.

    Born: Feb 14th, 1970

    Short Term Goal: To keep improving my game as a player and coach.

    History: From summer of 2022 to Fall of 2024, served as the President to the Thunder Bay Pickleball Club.

  • LINDA MCDONALD

    Born: July 14, 1965

    Background:

    8 years competitive badminton at the provincial and national level / 5 years University of Toronto varsity badminton team.

    Secondary Teacher for over 20 years / Bachelor of Physical and Health Education

    Coached Badminton in Toronto 6 years

    Short-Term Goal: To introduce new and beginner players to the enjoyment and benefits of participating in pickleball by creating a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging environment. To help players enhance their skills, improve performance, and build their confidence through structured training programs.

    Long-Term Goal: To continue my personal development as a coach by staying up to date with the best practices in pickleball coaching by attending coaching clinics and learning from experienced coaches. Help players to develop a lasting love for pickleball by building fundamental skills and focusing on fun, fitness, and social connections.
